Handmade Christmas #3 and 4

I've procrastinated on Sackboy. He currently has two arms with posable fingers and only part of his head, the poor fellow. I'm just not enjoying making him due to (a) having a time limit and (b) the lack of creative flexibility. It's just not my usual it-doesn't-look-like-my-sketch-but-still-looks-cute way. So he's been abandoned temporarily for more enjoyable Christmas gift projects.

First up .... some bird and cloud fridge magnets for someone newly out of home. After around a decade in my own home I still use far more junky free advertising magnets than I should. Thought I'd give her a headstart.

And for a friend's daughter who is starting kindergarten next year I made a backpack. She's far more girly than my two little ones. So out came the pink floral that's been gathering dust. Her mum thought she'd like her name on the bag too.

I used this pattern from the Husqvarna website. The large gaudy flowers were discarded and I cut the main bag piece a couple of inches smaller. Not sure whether or not I will use the pattern again. Moderations are required if I do. Does anyone know of a good kids backpack pattern?

Ack! Those magnets are cute!! We, too, have too many junky advertising magnets.

I just clicked on the "sackboy" link. That is the first thing I thought of when I read that! My boys love playing that game. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Does it have a little working zipper?

I'm not sure how I'll add the zipper yet. And with only three days until Christmas my poor brother-in-law may be getting an IOU! Will definitely show how he turns out though ... for better or worse.
