Jan Ormerod is one of Audrey's favourite authors. She wrote a series of books based on the relationship between a Dad, his baby and a black and white cat in the '80s. Following on from this she wrote a second series about the same baby and cat, but this time with the very pregnant Mum. They are lovely simple stories, the shortest is told in around 10 words.

I bought these three books off eBay this week. We already have "Sleeping" and "Mum's Home", found within an ailing ex-library story treasury. To my delight the third book is now my favourite in the series: "Making Friends". The Mum is sewing a soft doll for the baby, while baby and cat play alongside her. Just perfect for our household!

I haven't noticed her books - they look like something Leila would like so I'll seek them out.
We have a copy of one of her books "sunshine" (Some pictures in a post from a while ago here - http://3redbuttons.blogspot.com/2008/07/tip-shops-and-other-wonders-of-world.html)
The book has beautiful illustrations & has a lovely pace, perfect for quiet 'reading'.
Love the tomato top!
